Mia M. Nor

Multidisciplinary Artist Mia M. Nor (B. 1990) is a Kuala Lumpur–based multidisciplinary artist working across contemporary abstract painting, sculpture, photo experimentation, and visual storytelling. Her practice is shaped by an enduring fascination with how impermanence and structure eventually give way to feeling. What began as a passion project while she was practicing law has evolved into a committed artistic practice rooted in intuition rather than obligation. Her work centers on colour theory, texture, patina, and layered surfaces, employing diverse mediums to explore intuitive mark-making, memory, choice, philosophy, and emotional residue. Each piece functions less as a fixed statement and more as an open field of interpretation.

Founder & Creative Director, OUVSERA. As Founder and Creative Director of OUVSERA, Mia extends her artistic philosophy beyond the canvas into a broader creative and strategic practice. With a 12-year background in the legal industry, specialising in intellectual property, she brings structural clarity and rights-conscious thinking into every project she leads. OUVSERA operates at the intersection of branding consultancy and creative direction. Mia works across campaign conceptualisation, content development, copywriting, creative writing, and visual storytelling, building narratives that are emotionally resonant and strategically grounded. Her legal background informs a deep understanding of authorship, ownership, and identity, ensuring that creative work is both compelling and intentional. She approaches creative direction as a process of distillation, refining meaning, clarifying positioning, and shaping visual and verbal languages that feel authentic rather than manufactured. Through OUVSERA, Mia bridges artistic sensibility with commercial intelligence, developing projects with both conceptual integrity and practical value.

"I don't make art to explain life, but to sit with its uncertainty, bearing witness to what it means to be human"
