Mia M. Nor’s Compendium of Becoming is an ongoing body of work that examines identity as something formed through process rather than resolution. The series explores how selfhood is shaped by womanhood, choice, orientation, interruption, and relational experience. Across painting, sculpture and assemblage, the works trace accumulation, revision, and negotiation, framing becoming as an active condition of inhabiting oneself honestly over time.
Mia M. Nor’s Insomia is an ongoing body of work shaped by sleepless nights sparked by post-5pm caffeine and long-standing nocturnal habits. Painted through the night and intentionally left unvarnished, each piece preserves a raw, unfiltered surface. Bright, dopamine-charged colours confront the darkness of ungodly hours, embodying the irony of being intensely alert while the world sleeps. Suspended between vibrancy and fatigue, Insomia unfolds as both a visual diary of insomnia and a study of heightened solitude and consciousness.
“I strongly believe that identity is not a verdict. It is a process under constant amendment”
